US PATENT FOR THE BRAYFOIL WING DESIGN WAS GRANTED IN APRIL 2017
In late 2015 the University of Stellenbosch conducted CFD and wind tunnels tests of an early stage Brayfoil prototype and confirmed all material claims and aspects of the invention.
In November 2016, Brayfoil pitched at the K Start Up Grand Challenge Finals Week in Korea, selected among thousands of applicants from around the world.
In January 2017, Brayfoil was selected for incubation by the World Bank sponsored Climate Innovation Centre South Africa (CICSA), one of only 7 Climate Innovation Centres globally – Brayfoil has in record time advanced to “Top 10” status at CICSA.
The beta version of the Brayfoil Racing Yacht successfully tested in March 2017.
In May 2017 the first high net worth private investors pledged support with multi-million seed equity investments in Brayfoil Holdings.
CHINESE PATENT FOR THE BRAYFOIL WING DESIGN GRANTED JUNE 2017
Detailed project plans and budgets for commercial and technical feasibility on all Brayfoil applications are being developed by Worley Parsons, UVAL and partners.
Construction drawings for the wind turbine (manufacturing ready prototype) ready by August 2017 with CFD and wind tunnel testing to solidify the final prototype builds.
Cooperation being formalised with global mining house and leading wind energy company on prototype installations in SA, Namibia and Denmark.
Cooperation being formalised with North Sails on testing of the Brayfoil Yacht.
Grant funding approved by CICSA to cover ongoing patent costs by and to conduct wind tunnel testing at CSIR.
Investor prospectus finalised with seed funding (grants, soft loans, equity) being sourced to finance prototypes, patenting, technical and commercial feasibility and market entry.
